Individuals with disabilities
People with disabilities meeting eligibility criteria may be eligible for reduced fare benefits. Medicare cards may also be used as proof of eligibility for the reduced fare. Pick up an application packet for the reduced are at the Downtown Transit Center or call 343- 7433 to have one mailed to you. Reduced are ID’s are issued Monday through Friday, 8 A.M. to 5 P.M.
Fully Accessible – ALL buses on ALL routes
Passengers who use standard wheelchairs, walkers, or have difficulty climbing stairs will find kneeling, low floor ramp access on every People Mover bus. These buses also have an Independent Locking System to secure wheelchairs, voice announcements and a reader board to convey stop locations.
Calling out stops
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), all buses on fixed route services anounce stops as follows:
• Major stop/timepoints along the route
• Transfer locations and routes which they serve
• Major intersections

Priority Seating
Seating in the front of the bus is set aside for senior citizens and passengers with disabilities. Your cooperation in making these seats available is appreciated.
Hailing Kits
Bus identifier kits are available to assist individuals with visual disabilities when using People Mover Buses. The kit consists of seventeen 5″ by 5″ cards (one for each route) that easily identify each route. The laminated cardss are yellow with black route numbers and also have Braille numbers. Operator Training
People Mover Bus operators are trained to meet the needs of passengers with disabilities by assisting passengers when gettin on and off a vehicle and securing the wheelchair.
Wheelchairs
People Mover will make every attempt to accommodate standard wheelchairs and other mobility devices. These devices are defined as not to exceed 48″ in length and 30″ in width and 600 pounds in total wight, including passenger and packages. Mobility devices larger than these standards may be denied service.
